Clinics, Master Classes & Residencies

Robert Jospé demonstrates various forms of contemporary drumming, including samba, Afro- Cuban, swing, and contemporary rock and fusion styles for the drum set and hand drums. Grooves and soloing along with rhythmic vocabulary and syncopation will be explored. Robert Jospé clinics are geared primarily for drum set students. Master classes can include all instruments. Students are encouraged to bring their instruments and participate in group playing.

Primary audience: high school, college, adult.

Residencies

Residencies offer opportunities for classroom work, integrating drumming into daily instruction and providing a coordinated and creative learning experience with teachers and students. Residencies include in-depth instruction in hand drumming and concepts presented in the World Beat Workshop with a focus on rhythms from West Africa and the Americas including the rhythmic patterns studied in “Learn to Groove”.
